Bristol Based Company Compact Power Has Developed a World Beating Waste To Energy Technology Using Sequential Pyrolysis, Gasification & High Temperature Oxidation. the World'S First Commercial Plant Is Now Operating In Avounmouth, Bristol. the Plant Handles 8.000 Tonnes Per Year of Mainly Clinical & Pharmaceutical Waste. the Technology Works By Heating Waste At a High Temperature In an Oxygen Free Chamber. This Carbon Is Then Also Converted To Gas & the Resulting Gases Are Combusted To Produce Heat, Which Is Then Converted To Energy As Steam. the Technology Was Proven In 3 Years of Trails On a Full Scale Pilot Plant. We Can Handle a Wide Range of Wastes (Including Difficult Wastes) & Operate To the Highest Environmental Standards With Limited & Relatively Low Cost Flue Gas Cleaning. Up To 80% of the Energy Value of the Waste Can Be Recovered As Usable Power & Heat. Units of Plant Are Small, But the Concept Is Modular So That Plant Design Can Be Optimised To Meet Requirements.
